artwOOrk ("we", "our", or "the app") is designed by an artist, for artists. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, your rights, and our founding commitments around data protection.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and optional display name. Authentication is handled securely through Supabase.

Profile and career data: You may choose to provide career stage, years active, location category, market conditions, gallery representation status, and a default hourly rate. This data is used solely for pricing calculations.

CV credentials: You may add education, exhibitions, residencies, fellowships, awards, collections, publications, and past sales. This data is stored securely and only accessible to you.

CV documents: You may upload a CV/resume file. This file is stored in secure cloud storage and only accessible to you.

Project and artwork data: Projects, boards, images, time entries, expenses, invoices, contracts, proposals, opportunities, and pricing calculations you create within the app.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to provide the app's features. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Specifically, we will never: sell your data to any third party; use your data to train AI models without your explicit consent; share your financial data, pricing history, or artwork valuations with galleries, institutions, collectors, or any party in the art market; use aggregated user data to build products that compete against the artists who contributed it.

3. AI Features

AI-powered features (pricing calculator, negotiation language generator, CV parsing, budget proposals) send anonymized data to Anthropic's Claude API. We take specific precautions to protect your privacy:

  • •Names of institutions, galleries, venues, and publications are never sent — only general categories and prestige tiers
  • •Your personal identity (name, email) is never included in AI requests
  • •Only artwork details, career stage, credential counts, and location category are shared
  • •Anthropic does not store or use your data for model training

You will be asked for explicit consent before AI features are used for the first time. You can withdraw consent at any time from your Profile.

4. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encrypted storage, secure authentication, and row-level security policies. Each user can only access their own data. CV documents are stored in private cloud storage accessible only to the document owner.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • •Access all data we hold about you
  • •Correct inaccurate data via your Profile
  • •Delete your data by deleting your account
  • •Withdraw AI feature consent at any time
  • •Export your data at any time upon request to hello@artwoork.app

7. Change of Control

If artwOOrk is acquired, merged, or substantially changes ownership, we are committed to the following protections for your data:

  • •You will be notified of any change of control at least 30 days in advance
  • •If the acquiring party does not commit in writing to maintaining these privacy protections, you will have the right to export all your data and delete your account before the transaction closes
  • •Your data will never be transferred to a party whose primary business involves selling artist data, commercializing artist intellectual property without consent, or providing services to galleries, dealers, or auction houses in ways that could disadvantage artists
  • •These protections are a founding commitment, established before artwOOrk had scale, and are intended to be binding on any successor entity

8. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as you maintain an active account. If you delete your account, all associated data (profile, projects, boards, credentials, calculations, invoices, contracts, and uploaded files) will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

artwOOrk is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of artwOOrk after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
